Definición
Family of ascomycete fungi, commonly known as green and blue molds. It includes widely recognized, ecologically important, and sometimes pathogenic genera such as Aspergillus and Penicillium. In 2011, the broadly defined family Trichocomaceae was split into three separate families: Aspergillaceae, Trichocomaceae (redefined), and Thermoascaceae, based on phylogenetic and morphological differences.
