Refers to ceramic styles created on the Korean Peninsula during the Goryeo Dynasty (918â1392). Goryeo ceramics were greatly influenced by Chinese ceramic technology around the 10th century, but by the 12th century original traditions had been established in jade-green-hued celadon, inlaid wares, and sculptural vessels. The Goryeo ceramics being created in the regions of Gangjin and Buan reached their peak in the 12th and 13th centuries, and similar styles soon spread throughout the country. While celadon predominated, small quantities of white porcelain were also produced. By the late 14th century (the end of the Goryeo Dynasty), celadon production declined and buncheong emerged.
