Definición

Refers to the style of celadon modeled after animals, plants, or human forms. Typically produced as incense burner lids, ewers, water droppers, seals, or statuettes and regarded as high-quality wares, the motifs often embody cultural or religious symbolism such as ducks (including mandarin ducks), peaches, pomegranates, monkeys, turtle-dragons, lions, and the Queen Mother of the West. Often wheel-thrown and then carved or joined rather than mold-cast, it was celebrated for its unique and naturalistic modeling, reaching a peak in the early 12th century that continued into the 13th century during the Goryeo Dynasty.
