Refers to the style of ceramics from the Goryeo Dynasty produced in Daegu-myeon, Chilryang-myeon, and other areas of Gangjin in Jeollanam-do Province. Although celadon dominated the production, a small quantity of white porcelain was also made. The area reached its peak in the mid-Goryeo period in the 12th and 13th centuries, when its techniques and ceramic forms spread nationwide. In particular, mold-impressed relief decoration became widely used, resulting in celadon with similar shapes and decorative motifs being produced nationwide. Additional decoration included carved designs and painted motifs using pigments such as iron and copper. Gangjin remained the principal center of Goryeo celadon production until the 14th century.
