Definición
Refers to the style of ceramics that emerged in the Buan region of Jeollabuk-do (province). Although celadon production began later in Buan compared to Gangjin, by the 12th and 13th centuries Buan wares joined those of Gangjin to be considered the acme of Goryeo ceramics. Distinctive features include large high-quality vessels such as maebyeong (prunus vases) over one meter tall, the active use of copper pigment, the production of fine celadon with inlaid decoration, and high-quality white porcelain. The local style is generally decorative in character and was concentrated in the mid-Goryeo period.
