Definición
Refers to a buncheong style produced in the 15th to 16th centuries at the kilns in Chunghyo-dong on the northeastern slopes of Mt. Mudeungsan in Gwangju. Although celadon and white porcelain were also made there, buncheong sagi (buncheong wares) define the local style. Production peaked with finely executed inhwa buncheong, which later simplified before giving way to guiyal buncheong. In its prime, inhwa buncheong was produced with vessels bearing inscriptions of place names and government offices, later expanding to include the names of potters, functions of the vessels, or other texts. Characteristic works include dishes with dragon designs and high-footed cups inscribed with Hangul.
