Definición
Refers to the style of white porcelain produced during the Joseon Dynasty (1392â1910). While some soft-bodied wares maintained the tradition of Goryeo white porcelain, the style is generally defined by high-fired, vitrified wares coated with clear glaze. Small numbers of soft-bodied inlaid white porcelain pieces were made until the late 15th century, after which it disappeared. Production was led by the Bunwon official kilns at Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do. Early Joseon blue-and-white wares show influences from Ming Chinese porcelain, but distinct Joseon characteristics marked by a balanced use of undecorated space had emerged by the 16th century.
