Definición
Refers to a white porcelain style from the official court kilns of the mid-Joseon period (mid-17th century) produced at the kilns at Songjeong-dong in Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do (province). These white wares are similar to those produced in the kilns in Seondong-ri. Wares with inscriptions that include cyclical year dates with added numerals were also released, a feature not found in earlier pieces. White porcelain was also decorated with iron pigment, and during this time the use of iron underglaze spread to provincial kilns, where simplified iron-painted motifs also appeared.
