Definición

Refers to the style of ceramics produced in Mungyeong, Gyeongsangbuk-do (province) that were distinct from the refined white porcelain of the official court kilns. It became an important regional white porcelain tradition. Its production was focused on practical vessels such as jars and bottles for daily use rather than ritual vessels. Although highly finished blue-and-white porcelains like those from the Bunwon (the official court kilns) were not made, production was sustained using a distinctive type of kiln known as a “mangdaengi.”
