Refers to a type of bowl with a semicircular or semi-rectangular spout attached to one side of the rim. Their form is derived from a type of ancient Chinese bronze vessel known as a “yi.” In Korea, they began to be produced in the late Silla period and were made as ceramic wares during the late-Goryeo and the Joseon periods. They were used at banquets and rituals, and also in daily life, primarily for pouring or transferring water, liquor, or other liquids.
