Definición

Refers to a tall stand designed to support vessels with rounded bases. It is composed of an upper platform to hold the vessel and a supporting lower foot. In Korea, such stands were mainly produced in the Baekje, Silla, and Gaya Confederacy during the Three Kingdoms Period, usually from high-fired or low-fired earthenware. The legs were often decorated with openwork or incised designs. These stands were not intended for everyday use but were employed in ritual contexts as offering vessels.
