Definición
Refers to celadon produced from the 10th to 14th centuries during the Goryeo Dynasty in the Gangjin region of Jeollanam-do (province), particularly in Daegu-myeon and Chilnyang-myeon. Gangjin celadon was presented as tribute to the royal court, and inscriptions occasionally indicate its intended destination, use, production group, or date. Vessels that were especially fine in terms of color and form were produced at Sadang-ri in Daegu-myeon, and unusual types, such as celadon roof tiles, were also made there. Gangjin celadon, which is considered the pinnacle of Goryeo cheongja (Goryeo celadon), reached its height in the 12th and 13th centuries. The forms and techniques developed there spread nationwide and influenced the production of similar styles across the regions.
