Definición
Refers to celadon produced during the Goryeo Dynasty in the Buan region of Jeollabuk-do (province), notably at Yucheon-ri and Jinseo-ri. The highest-quality examples were mainly produced at Yucheon-ri in the 12th and 13th centuries and, along with Gangjin celadon, were presented as tribute to the royal court. While Buan celadon shares similarities in its forms and motifs with Gangjin ware, it tends toward more decorative effects. It is characterized by the production of large-scale vessels. The decorative techniques employed include mold-pressed relief, inlay, slip painting, and painting with copper-red underglaze.
