The modal testing procedure that allows the experimental estimation of the modal parameters of the structure from measurements of the vibration response only. The idea behind OMA is to take advantage of the natural and freely available excitation due to ambient forcesand operational loads (wind, traffic, micro-tremors, etc.) to replace the artificial excitation.
