Definición
A non-destructive analytical technique which uses the information from an ultrasonic probe which is scanned over the surface of the test sample to create a complete picture of the shapes, sizes and exact positions of defects, inclusions and other metallographic features which are displayed as full (false) colour screen or printed images. In cultural heritage conservation, it has been used to recover illegible or over-polished marks in metal objects.
